Catalytic combustion of CO: It is a process where organic waste gas is first preheated through a heat exchanger and then further heated to the initiation temperature (typically around 300°C, with slight variations depending on the specific catalyst) of the catalyst using an electric heater or burner. Once the waste gas reaches this temperature, the organic components undergo oxidative decomposition into carbon dioxide and water under catalytic action. The treatment efficiency for organic waste gas is up to 98%.
For low-concentration waste gas, catalytic combustion is frequently employed in conjunction with an activated carbon adsorption-desorption system or a rotary wheel system. Waste gas with a little higher concentration can be directly processed in a catalytic combustion chamber after being preheated with a heat exchanger.
Catalytic combustion is commonly used to treat organic components that do not contain chlorine, sulfur, nitrogen, etc. It is not well-suited for organic components containing chlorine, sulfur, or nitrogen, as these components can easily cause catalyst poisoning and deactivation, resulting in the waste-gas treatment efficiency not meeting the expected requirements.
